What is return to ravnica?

Return to Ravnica is a Magic: The Gathering expansion set that was released in October 2012. It is one of the most popular sets in the game's history and is set on the plane of Ravnica, a cityscape filled with ten different guilds, each representing a two-color combination of Magic's five colors.

The set features a total of 274 cards, including new mechanics such as Detain and Populate, as well as the return of popular mechanics from earlier sets, such as the multi-colored cards associated with each guild. The set also introduced shocklands, dual lands that can be tapped for either of two different colors of mana.

Return to Ravnica was followed by two additional sets in the Return to Ravnica block: Gatecrash and Dragon's Maze. The block as a whole was well-received by players and is considered to be one of the best in the game's history.
